モリンガの白い奇跡～2016冬～

栽培・農園

今年もあと1ヵ月を切りました。
先日、収穫を終えようとしていたモリンガ畑に、奇跡が起こったのです。

まずは、下の写真をご覧ください。お分かりですか？

なんとなんと、モリンガの花が咲いていたんです！
白い可憐な花がいくつもついていますね。

モリンガの花は春から初夏にかけて開花し、
暖かい地域だと年数回、多いと通年開花するといわれています。

いくら宮崎が南国とはいえ、

暖房をつけるほど寒い日が増えてきた今日このごろ。
モリンガの葉は大丈夫か!?　と心配していたくらいです。
それなのに、こんなに美しい花をいくつも咲かせてくれたのです！

香水の材料やエディブルフラワー(食用花）になるモリンガの花。
「お花をこの目で見たいです！　においをフガフガ嗅ぎたいです！
食べてみたい！　うお～！　少しだけでも持って帰れませんか!?」

興奮のあまり我を忘れるスタッフに
「花はもうあの木だけしかないから。そっとしておこう。」
阿万店長のやさしい一言に、わが身の強欲ぶりを猛省したスタッフなのでした。
花が咲いたモリンガは高さ3mほどもある大きな木で、とても高い場所に咲いていました。
花のついた枝の先には、つぼみがいくつも付いています。
暖かい時期であれば、これからもっと花が咲くのでしょう。
でも、いまは師走。どれだけ咲いてくれるでしょうか？

結局、この木は、葉も収穫せずにそのまま残しておきました。

最後の最後に、美しい姿を見せてくれたモリンガに、改めて感謝の1日でした。
